Despite yearly increases in global affordable and clean energy production, every area of sustainable energy falls short of the needs to meet the target goal for 2030. Lower costs and improvements of technology have played and will play a large part in delivering electricity and energy to places that were previously “off the grid”, but meaningful improvements will require higher levels of financing and commitment. It’s important going forward that, institutions, governments, organizations implement the correct strategies, policies, regulations and incentives to continue to push renewable energy as the main source of power.


Over 1 billion people are still living without electricity. Over half of this population is in Sub-Saharan Africa or rural parts of Asia.

More than 3 billion people are cooking without clean fossil fuels or efficient technology.

Indoor air pollution from using combustible fuels for household energy caused 4.3 million deaths in 2012, with women and girls accounting for 6 out of every 10 of these.


Many innovations have been brought to life and scaled such as wind and solar energy, but we have to make strides towards providing clean, renewable energy to everyone. HVAC Systems

A Florida startup called Be Power Tech has set out to make heating and cooling your home more sustainable. In the U.S, heating and cooling systems consume more energy than cars combined. As the system runs on natural gas, it charges a separate battery cell that can be used to heat or cool the rest of the building. They aim to “turn a problem into a solution” by making these accessible across the country.


Electric Roads

Sweden is ahead of the curve by introducing two kilometres of electric test roads, where vehicles connect to an overhead power source, similar to a light rail train system. The testing is currently only for large government vehicles such as garbage trucks and busses, but they hope to roll it out to all vehicles by 2030.
