Looking back at the past year’s accomplishments, we at Prepr and incredibly proud of our team and all of our Challenge and Program participants. 2021 was filled with the many ups and downs that come with a year of pandemic, and while there were moments of difficulty, we are thrilled to share all we have accomplished together this past year.
OUR FUTURE INDUSTRY CHALLENGE
This year’s Industry Future Challenge saw more than 1600 participants work to innovate and create opportunities from critical challenges in a variety of key industries from manufacturing to the environment. With the help of 32 experts, we were also able to run productive, engaging workshops. The resulting projects were amazing. After awarding the six Challenge winners, we also awarded eight of the best participants internships with Prepr and we couldn’t be prouder.
STUDENT SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
In 2021 Prepr was fortunate enough to work with the University of Alberta in order to train 110 students. Six of the student teams made it to the final round of training – executing brilliantly engaging presentations that showcased incredible, out-of-the-box thinking. Our program ended with the awarding of $16,750 in prizes.
Our F.U.N.™ program was, as always, a source of incredible talent in 2021. This past year we were able to successfully train 123 participants, with 79% of them gaining employment through either the program or personal efforts. So far, we have successfully matched 97 participants with gainful employers.
OUR PREPRLABS NETWORK
Our PreprLabs Network has grown exponentially this past year. With the introduction of 85 new Labs and 150 new Challenges, the network is larger and stronger than ever. We were also thrilled to add 135 new Organizations to the network this year, along with 7,377 new users and 2,136 new Projects. We are so incredibly proud to welcome all of them and look forward to the exciting work we are sure to see them continue to produce in the next year.
We are so proud to have re-launched our Podcast, Get Prepr’d, with twelve new and informative Digital Deep Dive episodes. These engaging interviews with digital creatives and digital natives can be found here. We look forward to producing many more exciting podcast episodes in the coming months.

After such a wonderful year, we can’t help but be excited about the future. In the next year, we plan to continue to build the PreprLabs Network with even more hands-on learning opportunities. We have so many wonderful Labs and Challenges planned and look forward to any and all new partnerships. With the world continuing to change at a rapid pace, Prepr is looking forward to continuing to play our part in fostering innovation and creating a positive space for learning and growth.
